Program Leader Testimonials

Shay Scott, Managing Director
Global Supply Chain Institute
University of Tennessee
The students in our Executive MBA programs for Global Supply Chain and Strategic Leadership are accomplished executives from around the globe, many of whom regularly conduct business in China. Working in partnership with the University of Tennessee, the Asia Institute used their knowledge and connections to build an excellent and rigorous academic program for these discerning students. Between their attention to detail and connections with business and academic communities, the Asia Institute possesses a professional approach to deliver on our expectations for a world-class product.

I consider the Asia Institute to be a host partner in higher education rather than a travel agent. The Asia Institute team brings an extensive knowledge and involvement with businesses throughout Asia and they are personally involved in curriculum development, syllabus preparation, and identifying academic resources to make our faculty-led programs possible. This is our fourth year working with the Asia Institute. Together, we developed the “Follow the Smart Phone Supply Chain” theme where students will follow the smart phone supply chain end-to-end. The program has received incredible interest from MBAs and supply chain majors. This shows the creativity of the Asia Institute in meeting the needs of our curriculum development.

Awesome Experience! Tai Bangle!
★★★★★ 5/5
I learned about Chinese culture, visited historic sites we'd studied about and visited companies to get an understanding of how businesses operate. We also interacted with the management at each of the companies to get their insights into operating private or state owned enterprises that were either mid sized or large. We met students from China as well, and through interactions with them and our Program Coordinators got to experience China's culture.

Wonderful Experience with Wonderful People
★★★★★ 5/5
I learned a tremendous amount about Chinese culture that you just never see in Texas. I'm so appreciative that I was able to experience Chinese life in both Beijing and Shanghai. I found nothing, but friendly locals and interesting experiences at every corner. I'd visit again in a heartbeat.

Best Trip I've Ever Been On!!
★★★★★ 5/5
Every second that I was on the trip I learned something. Everyone always talks about what China is like, but really you have to go and experience it for yourself. It was great to see how American companies do business in China. It made me able to see myself working abroad at some point in my lifetime. The trip and everything we did during it was worthwhile and I would do it all over again if I could.

Global Adventure
★★★★☆ 4.5/5
I learned that the world is ours to explore and learn from. Although we as humans may be very different, we also share many similarities. I was able to learn about cultures and traditions that shape people into who they are. I was also able to see first hand how businesses function overseas. It was a trip and a learning experience of a lifetime.
